Gary E. “Pap” Adams

Gary E. “Pap” Adams, 85, of Montgomery, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023 at his home.
Born March 6, 1938 in Montgomery, he was the son of the late Charles F. and Helen L. (Warner) Adams. On Aug. 24, 1958 he married the former Helen B. Maust and they have celebrated 65 years of marriage.
A 1958 graduate of Montgomery-Clinton High School, he was employed over 30 years at Sprout-Waldron in Muncy, and over 17 years at the former Montgomery Mills. He had also worked in the toy department at the former Hills Department Store in South Williamsport.
He was a member and former president of the Montgomery Little League Association and a life member of Clinton Township Fire Company. He was an avid Penn State and Philadelphia Phillies fan and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, swinging on his front porch, but most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving besides his wife, Helen Adams, are a son, Pat Adams and his wife Angelia of Montgomery; four daughters, Robin T. Hessel, Kandi Winder and her husband Jeff, all of Watsontown, Linda M. Moser of Montgomery, and Bethanie R. Dickerson and her husband Dennis of Shingle House; eight grandchildren, Melissa and Logan Hessel, Chelsea Goss, Krista Roman, Jocelyn Moser, and Arthur, Lucas, and Simon Dickerson; and five great-grandchildren, Liam, Brody, Cooper, Cade, Weston, and Elwood.
Preceding him in death besides his parents was a son, David F. Adams; a son-in-law, John Hessel; a brother, Ray Adams; and a sister, Vonnie Winder.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life Service to be held Sunday, Oct. 29, 2023 at 1 p.m. at the Clinton Township Fire Company Social Hall, 2311 Route 54, Montgomery.
