Prison Cell

After crashing into the front of the apartment building at 225 N. Main St. in Jersey Shore about 3:40 p.m. on Dec.15, motorist Terance Douglas Johnson allegedly fled the scene in his car and drove to the River Valley YMCA at 826 Allegheny St., where, after receiving a tip, Lycoming Regional police found Johnson and his damaged vehicle, according to an affidavit. When questioned, Johnson, 38, of 2532 W. Fourth St., told police he “thought he hit a brick in the road” and was unaware that he struck a building, the court document stated. Charged with accidents resulting in damage to attended property (hit-run) and two summary violations, Johnson has waived his preliminary hearing before District Judge Denise Dieter and is free on $25,000 bail.
