Famvest officials in talks with large commercial tenants for The District at Lycoming Valley, formerly the Lycoming Mall

Those rebranding the identity of the former Lycoming Mall say they are having discussions with potential large commercial and retail tenants as opposed to a more residential focus for the site in Muncy Township.
In response to a question from the Sun-Gazette following a Muncy Township supervisors meeting, Famvest Partners Inc. officials said they are doing so to attract the right commercial and large retail tenants for the property, which remains the primary focus for the site.
Progress continues to be made at The District, with site improvement planning underway and the successful opening and ongoing remodeling of The District Cinema.
Meanwhile, redevelopment of this magnitude takes significant thought, planning and design, and will be impacted by the type of tenant that comes to the property, Famvest noted in a statement to the Sun-Gazette.
Residents, meanwhile, are getting periodic updates on the development at the township Board of Supervisors monthly meetings. Recently, the commercial or commerce focus for the site rather than the residential was addressed to the supervisors.
Famvest said it remains committed to providing a mixed-use development that meets the needs of Muncy Township and the surrounding communities and will provide updates as they become available.
The same company with employees who live in the area has a number of properties it is developing in Greater Williamsport.
Famvest was the recipient of a $5 million state Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant through the Office of Budget and Department of Community and Economic Development. Famvest also continues to work closely with Lycoming Water and Sewer Authority to formulate a plan.
Famvest also is again hosting a charity AutoCross event Oct. 5 and 6, following a successful spring event.
Organized in partnership with the Northeast PA Region of the Sports Car Club of America (NEPASCCA), this event will benefit Heroes to Helpers, the Muncy Township Police Department charity that supports families in need across the region.
Signs identifying the site as The District at Lycoming Valley are at several locations to give people a concept of the future rebranding and to attract any potential developer with leasing and listing information.
